I bought the 120” L9g with the cinema ALR screen. I am in the process of finishing my basement, but I wanted to get it at the $1,000 off deal in November. I couldn’t wait to get this setup so as soon as I had the walls finished/painted I needed to get this on the wall.

I want to first say that the buying experience from ProjectorScreen.com was super easy. I had a few questions on which model I was going to get and then when it came to buy, a few clicks and done. Product was shipped promptly, and everything was in perfect condition. Great experience and would buy again from ProjectorScreen.com in the future.

The setup was straight forward. I had read reviews that it would take a couple of hours and wasn’t sure if I believed it fully. Yes, it takes that long haha. It was easy to put together but just took time and it does require 2 people. After a couple hours of quality time with my wife, we had the screen on the wall and a movie was on. The image setup was also very straight forward.

The picture quality is very impressive. I’ve tried a variety of content on it so far with different lighting situations. This unit is in a big rec room that has zone lighting and dimmers. I’ve watched movies streaming with a 4k Apple TV, PS5 games and streamed live TV on the Apple TV. The only time I feel I need to change my lighting from full brightness is when I’m watching something with dark scenes (like nighttime scenes). If I do that, I’ll have a section of the lights dimmed/off. I know everyone has a different room and setup so take this as my experience. Obviously the picture will look even better the darker it gets. Input lag is not noticeable for PS5 gaming.

I would fully recommend if you were considering an UST projector/TV to get this and get it from ProjectorScreen.com.

Really Good Daylight Projector

This is a good daylight projector. I was looking exclusively for a projector that would minimization the effect of daylight since we have no blinds in our living room. I had been searching for an Epson LS500 at first and wanted to pair that with a Stewart Screen or a Screen Innovations screen to get the ALR capabilities. The combos that I was originally looking at was in the $10,000 range since the screens themselves are about $6,000 plus tax and the projector was about $3,500 both of which needed tax. After doing some research, I decided on getting the Hisense L9G because it checked all the boxes I wanted, i.e. it has a 4K picture and it has a 85% light reducing capability all for around half the price of $5,000. After unboxing and set up I can say that the picture quality is amazing and it works really well in daylight. It compared to the models they have at the showrooms of other models that I saw when deciding whether I wanted to buy an ultra short throw projector. My only gripes about our purchase is that the projector itself is the shiny black material instead of matte black and it reflects overhead light onto the screen. Also, the frame wasn’t a 100% fit as I couldn’t screw in a cot or bracket completely on one side but no big deal. The functionality of the remote and android interface is really smooth and good too. Our whole family controls it using Alexa and an Echo so we love the function of it. Overall, I would say that we really like our purchase and would do it again. Please note that the first two photos that are displayed are without the frame, which makes it look so much better. Thank you.

This thing is an absolute BEAST! it's about 4x larger than my current 65" tv and blows it out of the water from an image quality perspective. I knew I wasn't going to get OLED level blacks, but for a projector the L9 is extremely good. Perhaps it has something to do with the included screen as that is a dark grey, but even before I set up the screen and was projecting on the wall, it still look good. Overall I am really happy with this purchase and the help that I got from the ProjectorScreen.com team in helping me chose this setup.

The color on the L9 is insane!

Compared to the single laser UST I’ve had in my media room for a year, the triple-laser is a whole new experience. Right out of the box the brightness and color of the L9G is such a dramatic step up that it’s hard to believe that I was ever content with my other projector - I guess I didn’t know what I was missing, until I saw what was possible from the L9G.

I got the bundled 100” cinema screen and I’m pretty impressed. With this screen the picture is super bright and looks great even with all the lights on. The build quality is nice too with all metal parts. The wall mount for the screen is two separate pieces that have level adjustments after you screw them into the wall. This was great to get the screen perfectly level after I hooked it to the wall mounts. The frame of the screen is like a picture frame, with an angled profile that catches the DLP light bleed that I see on my other screen with its really slim bezels. No light bleed once the L9 is in position.

I haven’t seen it talked about anywhere else but the responsiveness of the Android TV apps on the L9 is crazy fast. My other Android based UST is abysmally slow. On the L9 there’s no lag at all switching between video inputs, opening menus, or navigating between different streaming apps. The remote is also backlit, which is nice with all the lights out.

Overall this UST has incredible brightness, super accurate color performance, a really well-designed screen, and a snappy Android TV implementation. I’m recommending it to all my friends.

Thumbs up and recommend!

The laser tv itself set up was pretty easy except the automatic geometric setting was a bit confusing. We have not set up the screen yet, the image on wall is still considered good to us, thus confident that it would be stunning on the cinema screen. The sound system is actually better than we expected as we were thinking to pair a sound bar before buying.

The cons we have are:

1, it takes very long time to load the apps, sometimes too long that we just gave up. Wonder if other users have had the same issue....At first, we thought maybe it has to do with our internet speed (we have the 400mbps plan), but we speed tested it and other devices and the speed turned out fine. Plus, NO Netflix!!!

2, it turned on on its own a few times....maybe we didn't operate it correctly....haven't quite figure it out yet.

3, when we use IE browser, it sometimes shows "out of memory", but it doesn't bother us nor affecting the quality of the images.

Above 3 minor reasons are why we gave a 4 star, however we still would recommend this product.
